No matter what time of year you visit, there is always something exciting happening in Sedona. It’s one of our favorite parts of living here: there is no shortage of fun and unique things to do. Whether you are a yogi, cinephile, mountain biker, or beer lover, you are sure to find the perfect festival for you. So mark your calendars. Here is a list of our favorite festivals in Sedona.

Sedona Mountain Bike Festival

March 2nd-4th 2018

We may be biased, but we think Sedona is one of the most beautiful places in the world to ride your bike. It boasts over 200 miles of singletrack and a dry climate that facilitates cycling year round. That is why Sedona hosts its very own bike festival every March, the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival. Come for three days of bike rides, beer, music, skills clinics, and gear demonstrations.

Sedona Yoga Festival

March 14-17th 2019

Sedona is a mecca for wellness lovers. It as known as the spiritual center of the West, where the natural beauty of the red rock country and the healing powers of the desert landscape combine to make a truly rejuvenating paradise. The Sedona Yoga Festival is one of the best festivals in the country for health, wellness, and spiritual enrichment. Whether you are a beginner or a trained yogi, it is the perfect place to deepen your practice in a place of incredible beauty. But the weekend isn’t just yoga. There will also be music, art shows, presentation, and delicious and nutritious meals. They even have special programs for people living with PTSD.

Cinco de Mayo and Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off

There is no better place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Sedona than Tlaquepaque, an arts & crafts village specializes in Native and Hispanic culture. This colorful and authentic festival celebrates all aspects of Mexican history and heritage. There will be mariachi bands, dancing, and of course, lots and lots of delicious Mexican food. Head to the Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off to taste and vote for the best chili in the city, also hosted at Tlaquepaque by the Sedona Rotary Club.

Sedona Wine Fest

September 22-23rd 2018

Arizona might not get a lot of attention for its wines, but we think the Sedona Wine Fest is one of the best wine festivals in the country. Though wines from places like Napa or the Willamette Valley are certainly more famous, Arizona is a surprisingly excellent place for growing wine. It’s rocky, seemingly inhospitable terrain produces highly concentrated grape juices that result in complex and distinctive flavors. At the Sedona Wine Fest, you can sample over 20 local wines and learn about all things wine-related: wine history, wine production, and of course, wine drinking! There will also be live music, food, and art.

Sedona Plein Art Festival

October 13-20th 2018

“En Plein Air” refers to the act of painting outdoors. And what better place to paint outdoors than Sedona, a place renowned for its dramatic landscapes and unparalleled natural beauty? For 13 years in a row, the Plein Air Art Festival has inspired folks to get outside and find inspiration in the beautiful landscapes around them.The festival takes place over six days every October and includes gallery shows, receptions, workshops, demonstrations, and artist talks. This is a great chance to meet local artists and learn about their craft. You’ll get the chance to watch many of them paint “en plein air” right before your eyes. If you participate in one of the many artist-led workshops, you can even try out this style of painting yourself.

Red Rocks Oktoberfest

October 20th 2018

Every October, this beloved German tradition makes it way to Sedona’s Posse Grounds Park. Don your favorite lederhosen and dirndls for a fun-filled day dedicated to craft beer, delicious food, lively music, and an all around good time. Plus, you can drink beer while contributing to a good cause: All proceeds of the Red Rocks Oktoberfest go to education programs and scholarships for Sedona kids.

Sedona Northern Lights

December 14th-17th 2018

The Sedona Northern Lights show is our favorite winter tradition. Sedona is home to the largest 3D light show in the United States. During this one-of-a-kind festival, jaw-dropping 3D lights are projected against the beautiful natural canvas of Camelhead Rock. Lights, art, and nature combine to create a spectacular show like nothing you have ever seen before. It is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and celebrate the beauty of Red Rock country with friends or family.

The Sedona International Film Festival

Every February, the Sedona Film Festival attracts filmmakers and film lovers from all around the globe. Now in its 25th year, the Sedona Film Festival celebrates independent cinema and features everything from documentary shorts to foreign art-house films. The festival has even been ranked one of the best festivals in the country by MovieMaker Magazine.
