Spring

Spring Season is March Through May

More visitors come to Sedona during the spring season than any other time of the year. High temperatures are in the mid-60s to low 80s. However, the low temperatures can be chilly. This is the best time of the year for Sedona’s outdoor activities. The comfortable weather encourages you to hike the longer trails. The many tour companies offer fantastic, expert guided adventures.

You will feel comfortable in light layers – we suggest dressing in long pants or shorts; long sleeved tee shirts and light jackets work too. You always need closed-toed shoes for hiking and other outdoor activities. You will be peeling off the layers as the day wears on, but keep those light jackets close because you will want to have them available in the evenings.

This is the time of the year when you need to book your accommodations and tours way in advance. It is also a busy time at destinations such as the Grand Canyon. With many people taking Spring breaks from school or work, it truly is Sedona’s busiest season.

Summer

Summer Season is June Through September

People who live in Phoenix, Scottsdale and the rest of the Valley of the Sun like to visit Sedona during the summer season. The average day time temperature is 90 degrees, which is generally 10 degrees cooler than that of the Phoenix area.

Bring tank tops, short sleeved shirts, shorts and sandals for walking around town. Don’t forget your closed toed shoes for outdoor activities. This is a great time to cool off at Slide Rock State Park and other swimming holes on Oak Creek.

This is the time of the year for art and music festivals and Sedona’s ever popular Hummingbird Festival.

Fall

Fall Season is October Through November

This season brings on perfect Sedona weather. Average high temperatures are in the mid-60s to low 70s with crisp evenings. The colors are changing and you can see and feel the harvest season as it progresses.

Pack layers of clothes like long and short sleeved tee shirts and light sweaters and jackets. Sandals are OK for town but remember to bring your closed toed shoes for any recreational activities you want to enjoy.

Many surrounding towns and communities organize wine festivals and Oktoberfest celebrations.

Winter

Winter Season is December Through February

Wait until you see the red rocks dusted with snow. Not a lot of snow, just enough to let you know it is time to curl up in front of your fire place at the Inn. The roads in town seldom have anything more than a light dusting of snow so driving is not a problem.

Our winter temperatures are around mid 50s and 60s with evenings that are cold. Again, bring clothes that you can layer and long pants, long-sleeved shirts and sweaters. Fleece pullovers or sweatshirts are a good choice too. Don’t forget your camera so that you can keep the memories of the beauty of Sedona in the winter.

At Alma de Sedona, we are very festive for the holidays. Be our guest over the holidays and relax by the fire and soak in a jetted tub! We would love to pamper you.
