The natural, farm-to-table, homegrown, health food trend is such a blessing. Organic shops and natural food markets are popping up all over the nation. But this isn’t new news in Sedona. Our little high desert oasis has been a gathering for health-minded individuals for decades. It could be the energy vortexes, but there has always been a connection to natural foods and holistic products here. The health movement has brought this lifestyle into all corners of the world, and people are choosing to eat better for the environment, their well-being, to support the community and local economy, and for the elevated taste of good, wholesome foods. Travelling to a new destination can be stressful as you don’t know where to pick up nutritious, nourishing foods. Well, fret no more as we have created a guide to all of our go-to health food stores, organic restaurants, and farmers markets here in Sedona.

Interdependence Natural Foods:

This natural goods store is the perfect place to stock up on snacks, produce, and all-natural products for your stay in Sedona. Their kind and intelligent staff are happy to help you find local goodies and pick out the best in-season produce. Forgot something? Maybe you ran out of sunscreen, or you need some moisturizer to help combat against the dry climate. This store is the place to find locally made products with organic ingredients that have been tried and tested for generations.

Sedona Farmers Market:

Locally referred to as the Uptown Farmers Market, this gathering is a great way to spend a morning. Wander around the vendors to find beautiful pieces of art, local produce from nearby farms, organic products, and see a different side of Sedona. During the Summer months (May-Oct) you can find this gathering at the Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village on Fridays from 8-11:30am. During the Winter months (Oct-May) the group moves to the Wells Fargo Bank Parking lot and runs every Sunday from 12-4pm.

If you’re coming to Sedona during the summertime but can’t make the Friday market, then swing by the Flagstaff Farmers Market just 30 miles away in downtown Flagstaff to stock up on farm fresh produce, local products, and art. This gathering is held outside of City Hall on Sundays from 8am-12pm every week from May until October.

Local Juicery:

Just by the name, you know this place is going to be good. Local. Juicery. Yum. But this little natural foods shop has more than just fresh-squeezed juices. Stop by and grab one of their delicious and nutritious waffles, one of their protein-packed refreshing salads, or a grab-and-go snack for the trails. Always organic, superfood focused, community driven, and love filled recipes that are sure to fill you up.

Chocola Tree:

Every single element in this restaurant is made from scratch. No boxes, bags, or cans hiding in the back, just homecooked, wholesome deliciousness. Sit in their garden for lunch or dinner and identify the different fruits, veggies, and herbs growing all around you. Taste the fresh ingredients and the love that goes into each dish. If you read ‘Chocola’ and felt your heart race at the thought of homemade chocolates, then be prepared to save some room for dessert. All of their chocolates are made on site in the chocolate shop. Since 2005, they have worked with small farms in Ecuador to source their cacao beans and slow grind them steps away from where you’ll taste them.

Just because you are away from your favorite health food store and in a new destination doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy natural foods. Stop by any of these wonderful markets and restaurants to enjoy nourishing foods, meet health-minded individuals, and taste the best of what Sedona has to offer.
